What is Photochromic Visor?

1. The photochromic visor is designed to automatically darken in response to the intensity of sunlight (UV light). This feature allows for seamless rides in various lighting conditions, from cloudy weather to bright sunlight and even in the dark, without the need to change the visor.

2. The "photochromic" technology effectively blocks 100% of the UV rays, which are equally harmful to the eyes and skin. This visor functions as a variable sunscreen for the eyes.

3. The speed at which the visor transitions from clear to tinted depends on the temperature, with warmer conditions facilitating faster molecular movement and, consequently, quicker changes. In favorable weather conditions, the visor can go from very clear to maximum tint in as little as 40 seconds.

How to Clean Photochromic Visors?

Photochromic visors can be cleaned gently and using the same methods as any other visor.

Tips for Use

Normal scratches do not reduce the self-tinting ability of the visor due to additional protective layers. However, it is recommended not to leave the visor permanently exposed to direct sunlight when not in use, as prolonged UV exposure can damage the visor over time.

Photochromic shields will darken in sunlight and become clear (or almost entirely clear) again when indoors, thanks to the chemical responses to the presence and absence of ultraviolet light.

Photochromic shields are known to darken more quickly than they lighten, and the speed is slightly temperature-dependent. On a bright and sunny day, they'll typically reach maximum darkness in about 20 seconds, with full activation in 2 minutes.
